CSRAVS is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant to join our team! We are a fast growing multi-doctor practice, committed to providing high-quality medical care and excellent client service.
The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, a love for animals, and a meticulous approach to maintaining a clean and comfortable environment for our boarding and hospitalized pets.
Responsibilities
- Providing daily care for boarding and hospitalized animals, including feeding, watering, and walking
- Cleaning and disinfecting kennels, runs, cages, and other animal housing areas
- Monitoring the health and well-being of all animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff
- Administering medications as directed by veterinary staff (under supervision)
- Doing laundry, washing dishes, and maintaining overall cleanliness of the hospital
- Exercising and socializing with animals as appropriate
- Assisting veterinary assistants and technicians with animal restraint and handling as needed
- Ensuring proper inventory of kennel supplies
- Maintaining accurate records of feeding, medication, and animal observations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in an animal care setting (e.g., kennel, shelter, daycare) is a plus
- A genuine love for animals and a compassionate approach to their care
- Ability to follow instructions meticulously and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to cleanliness
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Comfortable working with animals of all sizes and temperaments
- Reliable and punctual
