Tim Loonam

Dr. Loonam is a co-founder of Grace Animal Hospital, which he established alongside his wife, Betsy. They take immense pride in the hospital’s reputation within the community and the positive culture they’ve fostered among their team. While he loves all aspects of veterinary practice, Dr. Loonam specializes in dentistry, laser surgery, and prioritizing client education during examinations.

A key extension of his dedication to animal welfare is his work with Central Savannah River Area Veterinary Services. He performs high-volume, high-quality spay and neuter surgeries at CSRAVS to actively help reduce the unwanted pet population in the region.

Dr. Loonam is a recognized expert in state-of-the-art pain management and anesthesia monitoring, knowledge he regularly shares by teaching at veterinary schools and professional meetings. Furthermore, he serves as the primary contact for pre-veterinary and veterinary students who wish to complete their clinical training at Grace Animal Hospital.

Dr. Loonam and Betsy reside in Lexington, where their hobbies include travel, gardening, and fly fishing. Their greatest joy, however, is watching their grown children, Jack and Katie, thrive in their careers and with their own families. The household is completed by their Border Collie, Pete, who is notably obsessed with the family’s three cats: Lulu, Lola, and Lilly.
